Poker is a card game where players wager money on the value of their cards. Bets are usually made with plastic or ceramic discs called chips, and the chips are counted at the end of the game.<\/p>\n
Poker has many variations, but all of them involve two or more people who use a deck of cards to try to make the highest hand possible. The player who has the best hand is called the winner.<\/p>\n
The first step in any poker game is to post blinds, which are a small bet that is placed by each player before any cards are dealt. Once blinds have been posted, each player receives two face-down cards, dealt one at a time starting from the left side of the dealer.<\/p>\n
A player’s stack of chips is stacked near the edge of the table in a stack of 20. The red $5 chips are the most common, but there are also other colors and shapes of chips.<\/p>\n
When betting, a player has three options: open, check, or fold. To open a bet, you must have a good hand, but not necessarily the best.<\/p>\n
