Poker

Poker is a family of gambling card games. It is played worldwide, although the rules vary from place to place.

The object of the game is to have the highest hand possible. The winning hand is based on the combination of your five cards, with the highest card beating any other.

1. Ante:

In most poker games, players are required to ante (a small amount) before they are dealt their cards. This ante is usually equal to the minimum bet in that game.

2. All-in:

An all-in is when a player puts all of their chips into the pot, before anyone else has been dealt any cards. This is a very popular strategy because it increases the number of players who can bet into the pot, which increases the potential to win the pot.

3. Blind:

In many poker games, the person to the left of the dealer has to put money into the pot before they are dealt their cards. This person is called the ‘blind’.

4. Betting rounds:

In most poker games, there are three betting rounds that occur in clockwise order before a showdown takes place. Each round has a different number of cards. The first round of betting is called the flop, and is dealt face up. The second round is called the turn, and the third round is called the river.
